Meet Fairy Godmother, Ponn Sabra
Name: Ponn M. Sabra
Hometown: Meriden, CT
Current Residence (City, State): Toledo, OH
Education: BS Biology, Providence College.
MPH/Masters in Public Health, University of Connecticut
Professional Background (brief, please):
At the age of 25 with a Master’s in Public Health, I became one of the youngest appointed public health officials in the United States. Next my senior was a physician who was 32 years old, and our colleagues were all in their late-40’s, early-50’s or retired physicians entering public health administration.
In just three years in that post, I was published in the nation’s most prestigious public health journal, received numerous local, regional, and national honors and awards, and featured in multiple local media outlets.
I’ve been an accomplished freelance writer for over a decade.
I became a top-producing licensed Realtor (R) in less than one year, even though I had a 1 and 2-year old at home and was 6-months pregnant. Oh, and I moved to a brand new city and state two months prior.

A doctor

What inspired you?
All my professional success is due to my ability to connect with people and create partners instead of enemies–the art of building a Power Network. I always gave (and continue to give) free advice, consultation and recommendations and while I’m often ridiculed for my possible naive’ my rewards always exceeded the efforts, time and money invested. A Publisher encouraged me to write a book two years earlier, though honored; I let life take priority of me and not the other way around. Immediately after my car accident, I wrote my experiences, tips and recommendations while I was in bed rest in just 3 days (the entire book was in my head, I just needed to write it out).
How long have you been in business?
I have been a freelance writer for nearly 10 years, and started working from home when my eldest was 6 months old–six years ago. I transitioned to becoming an author and internet marketer was January 2005. Now (February 2007), I’m growing once again to build my informational products, as I transition to becoming a syndicated columnist and online internet-business owner. My health prevent same from public speaking, and being out of the home for prolonged periods of time.
How did you fund it?
Again, I’ve been very blessed to have numerous partners with whom to barter services (e.g., I’d trade ghostwriting services for editing and transcribing services, or babysitting for cross reference checks). Coming online was easy as I had personal savings and started gaining from affiliate income also immediately.
