Gratitude: Retreat was “Sparkly”, Startup Princess Tweetworks Group Launched Plus! Links to Attendees’ Posts

November 10, 2008

I loved reading Design Mom, Gabrielle Blair’s recent Twitter about the Retreat…she said it was “Sparkly” and yes, indeed it was. “Sparkly” that’s exactly how you SHOULD describe Startup Princesses and Fairy Godmothers. You’re all so darn brilliant, beautiful, and light truly radiates from you. And “Sparkly” of course is a great descriptor because of all the magic wands flashing about (and Gwen Bell’s wings (which she wore the entire weekend!), the awesome connections made and the valuable content shared. I’ve been contemplating really, truly, how could I even attempt to sum it up? Hmm…How about “Sparkly Awesome?”

For me, personally and for Startup Princess it was a wish come true to have talented, wonderful women I love and admire from all over the country join together for a retreat all about internet marketing with first rate nationally-known presenters ( Holly Buchanan, Design Mom-Gabrielle Blair, Barbara Jones, Gwen Bell , Janet Meiners Thaeler. The retreat was filled with super cutting edge content and I left rethinking a lot of my online marketing and with many ideas for immediate implementation and above all the thought CREATE MORE RETREATS.

The first “a-ha moment” emerged from Gwen Bell and Gabrielle Blair’s suggestion that we Twitter the event. I really didn’t know how to do this before in an event setting. They taught everyone the first night and we created the #princess group on twitter (you can go back and read 22 pages of content), we started “trending” which is when your group is spotlighted/featured and then as a complete surprise, Kirtsy generously offered to sponsor internet for everyone…thank you Kirtsy! It really changed the dynamics of the event to have everyone online and Twittering and we now have many new Startup Princesses on Twitter connecting, so much that we now have a TweetWorks group. This group will be what we all make it…there’s about 13 or so participating now there so join in when you can and say hello.

If You’re on Twitter (if not, join for free)!

Another of the many “a-ha” moments was today when I was too tired to post and was behind, I realized it was ok because there were so many of the attendees kindly sharing around the web on twitter, blogs, and video. Wow. I’m so grateful and feel the love. Which brings me to again say thank you to the Fairy Godmothers and Startup Princesses for this thoughtful and stunning necklace (haven’t taken it off!), presented to me by Design Mom, “You Will Be Loved” or it could say “Loved You Will Be”. I love it. That message is exactly what I want to communicate to others, so I love wearing it and feeling it in return from you, so touched. Thank you.

If you want one you can enter the contest on her blog this week for one and more beautiful things from All About Cute.
