What is “Startup Princess?”
Startup Princess is an international network for women entrepreneurs to learn and support one another started in July 2006 by Kelly King Anderson, a mom struggling to launch her own company whom wanted to meet and learn from other like-minded, action-driven women.
Kelly runs and operates Startup Princess as the Managing Director and Editor of the website. Startup Princess is now her primary business and she enjoys writing, speaking, and mentoring women from all over the world. Kelly is supported by her partner, Leslie Smoot who organizes and runs Startup Princess events in Utah. Peter Tennis serves as strategic advisor and mentor.
As of 12/07 we have over 300 women entrepreneurs in our network and daily traffic of 2000 unique visitors. Startup Princess has been recognized by Entrepreneur magazine and Costco Connection listed Startup Princess as a Top Resource for women entrepreneurs in May 2007.
Objectives of Startup Princess:
1. An online site for women entrepreneurs everywhere to network, learn, share, and mentor one another.
2. Offer helpful resources and materials in one central location that will aid women entrepreneurs in starting or continuing their venture
3. Empower women to recognize that they have the power within themselves, as they are a “Princess” of their world, to make their dreams a reality through hard work, networking, and following inspiration
4. Provide publicity, resources, education, and networking events for women entrepreneurs to learn and succeed in business
5. Mentors called Fairy Godmothers write for the site and mentor at events
6. Where available, Networking Tea Parties and conferences are held to help members meet each other in person and continue learning together. Currently monthly events are being held in Utah County.
Startup Princess Membership: All Startup Princesses (women entrepreneurs) are invited to join our “Kingdom” for FREE and receive our email updates and announcements.
Profile pages on Startup Princess are by invitation to women entrepreneurs only. Features on Startup Princess are also by invitation.
Fairy Godmothers are experienced women entrepreneurs and women in business who write as guest bloggers, do teleseminars, and consulting for Startup Princess. Fairy Godmothers participate by invitation and volunteer their time.
