My story behind being on the cover of the September/October 2009 issue of Wasatch Woman… A few years ago I saw a billboard for Wasatch Woman magazine and I had a little wish… a wish to be associated with the magazine in some way, maybe to be even in it, but for what? I wasn’t doing anything at the time that was very interesting. Fast forward to 2007 when we featured the Founder/Editor of the magazine Barbara Vineyard as a keynote speaker at our Startup Princess conference and I thought of it again… someday I want to be IN that magazine. Then Barbara sold the magazine to Media One and the magazine got a whole new look, plus a brand-new beautiful and brilliant editor, Pam Baumeister (featured in the photo with me).
In January 2008 Pam introduced herself to me on Twitter and invited me to lunch. It was one of those amazing occasions when you meet someone and instantly click…we enjoyed getting to know each other on a deep level and she offered me the cover of Wasatch Woman for September. I was completely in shock since we had just barely met and I was not expecting our meeting to go that direction; I was excited. Since then Pam and I became very good friends and she is now someone that I love and trust completely.
When it came time to do my photo shoot and interview I expected the article to be about Startup Princess and business but then there was a surprise, they decided to do the article about Truth and Vision, I couldn’t have been happier with the opportunity to share my beliefs and thoughts on the subject, not to mention I loved being pampered like a princess (minus the 4am call time at the salon!) and loved borrowing fabulous clothes and jewelry from Whimsy in SLC and getting my hair and makeup by Kitty at Tranquility Day Spa in SLC. Everything came together just perfect and it was such a fun photo shoot! We took all the photos at The Gateway in SLC at 6am and I had a great time walking around all the fountains being a “Fairy Godmother” with my magic wand and sprinkling the world with pixie dust, Make a Wish, Make it Happen!
Thank you Pam for the opportunity, for trusting me to have something to share with your readers and thank you Rebecca who wrote the article, and many thanks to all the other kind friends at Wasatch Woman who worked on this issue. What an honor and truly, a wish come true. Check out the issue and if you aren’t already a subscriber, do so!

That was a great article, Kelly! You were articulate and honest – two very important qualities. You looked gorgeous in your photos as well.
