I absolutely LOVE this time of year.  We’re free from school schedules, free from our usual routines, free from snow and in America we celebrate our freedom on July 4th.  It just can’t get much better than that.

And, at Startup Princess, we’re celebrating an entirely new kind of freedom: FREEDOM FROM THE CORD.  Have you ever been in the middle of something important, or at a critical meeting and notice that you’re about to run out of batter power?  Then you can’t find a plug that reaches your cord?  Happened to me at a speaking engagement.  DRAT!

HP figured out how to create a laptop that has a battery that can last up to 9 hours AND it’s slim and portable, too!

I’ve had the opportunity to try out the HP Folio 13 Ultrabook, and I was impressed with the battery life.  My husband and I took it with us on a trip to the Caribbean so we could have a side-by-side comparison with our current laptop.  Granted our machine is 4 years old, but we were more than impressed with how long the battery lasted (and as a side note, I loved the keyboard.  Sounds silly, but I kept saying to my husband how much I loved it.  I could type [and tweet :) ] with ease).  AND, I carried that laptop in my carry on and I hardly noticed it was there.
