Want a Dreamy Summer? Start with a Vision Board

While I typically think of Vision Boards in January, I decided to create one with my kids (ages 3, 5, 9) just for SUMMER because Summer usually  slips by before we get to some of our favorite activities or we’re trying to cram them in all at th e end. This year we wanted to create the Most MAGICAL Summer EVER so we created a poster with all of our dreams. I loved how they found photos they liked that represented their ideas and interests (who doesn’t want a rice krispie treat now and then?). I added two photos, the one of the serenity garden to remind me that we needed some meditation and quiet time in nature as well as the fun. I also added the picnic one because it wouldn’t be Summer to me if we didn’t have at least one picnic in the canyon. I loved how my daughter chose the image of “Mommy, Daddy are we prepared?” and also one of Jesus. So if you’d like, take this idea and create your own Summer Vision Board with your family or just by yourself so that besides getting all of your work projects in (you can put images of your biz goals as well, if you’d like!), you make sure and do all of the other fun activities that you’ve been thinking about. Have you been craving time to read? want a massage? date at the beach? After we made our poster I planned our Summer calendar and made sure we planned a day to do each of the kids’ wish activities. We typically write on the back of the poster when we accomplish our goals and like to see what and how we’ve completed them. Promise if you take time to enjoy Summer you’ll have a bit more energy to give to other areas of your life, including your business. Make a Wish, Make it Happen!

Took this idea and turned it over to my kids. They went a little crazy cutting up magazines so I had to “filter” some of the things they wanted to do this summer. We’ve already been swimming, had movie night, been camping, and gone on a ‘picnic in the poppies’ and that was just in one week. To quote my daughter, “We’ve just done stuff instead of sit at home.” We hung the poster on the wall so we see it everyday.

I’m so grateful for the balance this brought back to my life. I was getting pulled away from my husband and children (14, 12, 10, 4, 2, and 9 months!) way too often and ignoring them too much.

Thanks Kelly and Michelle for your support and ideas. I HIGHLY recommend this one to everyone.

Vision Board helps you establish, visualize and actually reach your most important goals and desired outcomes
