When’s the last time you went to Vegas for a business event, conference, or trade show? For me it was Blogworld this past October. I had a great time connecting with blogging friends in REAL life. Oops… I just saw that said business event so now I am an idiot. I know the person moderating will just leave off my first comment because he feels for me. ;-P
I guess my one and only trip to Vegas for a business event would be my favorite. It was in October 2009 for the Blogword Expo. I had so much fun carpooling down and back with friends, that alone could have made the trip. But in addition we got to dance the night away, network, and connect.

CES 2009 was amazing!
Well, amazing enough it was a previous Blogworld with you. We had tickets. We went to pick them up. They didn’t have our names. But we worked it out and got our badges.
We noticed everyone was in suits and dressed up. We grabbed some breakfast (free food at Blog World?? wow!). We asked people how the conference was going. Then it dawned on us that we were in the wrong place!!
The real BlogWorld was much more blog-like.
Then there’s the time that I went to the Internet Marketing Super Conference. I sort of snuck in. It was AMAZING. Because it was like a religious revival experience.

PS I’m back in Vegas for Affiliate Summit in 2 weeks. Another great conference and memories. You find all the highest and lowest affiliates in the industry. This is where it all started for me.
I love conferences in Vegas because it’s energy, venues and how close it is. Another story is how I drove home all night & my friend kept me from death by talking to me until I got home about 4am. Never again!!!

My most recent conference in Vegas was PubCon. My favorite part was finally meeting a bunch of people that I’ve talked to on Twitter, but never met in person. The parties and eating out were great, and we got to see the inside of a bunch of different hotels that I’ve never been in like the Wynn and Treasure Island. All in all a great time!

I attended the Mom2B tradeshow in Vegas a while back and that has been my only trip. I wouldn’t say I have a positive memory of it since I went solo, didn’t know anyone and was definitely a fish out of water. I’d love to go back for something like BlogWorld with girlfriends and make some really good memories!

I would love to go to Vegas but sadly have never made it there yet. My dream event would probably be an international VA conference, so I could meet up with other virtual peeps like me for real, and share our knowledge and experiences.
And of course have plenty of spare time to check out all the sights and the casinos as well!
I absolutely love attending PubCon at the convention center. I have gone 3 years in a row and hope to continue attending for many years to come. By far, the best story I have from PubCon is that I had Google’s Matt Cutts shave my head there at PubCon just a couple of months ago. My post about it is is here: http://www.seo.com/blog/matt-cutts-and-evan-fishkin-shaved-my-head-at-pubcon/
I’m still working on growing my hair back in.

I have been to many tradeshows in Vegas, but my favourite experience was my first trip and conference to Vegas. I attended the 1st Coachville Coaching Conference, which was held at the RIO in March of 2002. It was incredible to meet so many like-minded colleagues and to explore the sights. I think Vegas is the best place to attend conferences. Combining professional development along with the fun and excitement Vegas has to offer makes for an extremely fulfilling experience along with a tax right off.
I would be glad to tell you, but I just don’t remember!
I was in Vegas for an event on funeral merchandising…Our hotel, The Golden Nugget was fantastic… bright, loud, quite the night life… the strip too…was the same… so many people…Where did they all come from…?
My favorite memory was when the meeting ended and door prizes were given away to the attendies. My co-worker won $100 in players money and with that, she played her luck and won $10,000 bucks to take home. The funny part was…. we switched tickets and thats how she won the $100 bucks… She’s such a lucky girl…
I have been to Vegas many times – planning on going down for another convention soon. Vegas is great – has over 300 sunny days a year… the MINI Convention is March is the bomb!
Never been to a business event there, but here’s hoping the American media industry will figure out how to get going again and have some great programs!

I used to live in Vegas and while I wasn’t fond of actually living there, it’s always nice to see the sights. One business trip I wouldn’t mind getting together for is actually Readers and Writers Network. They’re not a major group, but they’ve made a lot of impact on me as a freelance writer/author.

I love the energy and magic of like minded people gathering together to share their talents and ideas at trade shows in Las Vegas. My first business exposure was attending the MAGIC trade show. I connected with a rep for my clothing business and gathered information to move forward. After a long day taking in dinner and a show was a treat. A black berry would be even a bigger treat and help me stay connected.
When I started my children’s clothing company in 2000, I was living in a tiny studio apartment. I had absolutely no idea how to get a business up and running — where to find resources (or even what resources I would need) to make my dream happen.
Somewhere along the line, we found out about the MAGIC marketplace convention in Vegas. By this time, my mom was now working with me in the business, so we made a trip out there.
When I was little we had driven through Las Vegas and seen magic shows, but I had no idea about the true business magic that goes on there or what to even expect.
When they called it MAGIC—it was. Walking into the Las Vegas Convention Center (and other locations) really opened my eyes to how much support there is for small business owners at events like these. These events can completely change your business.
It made me see what was possible and gave me an idea of the industry I was now apart of. I finally felt like I wasn’t alone.
We’ve met suppliers, partners, distributors and friends at the event.
To me a convention is Vegas is like taking your business on the “It’s A Small World” ride at Disneyland. There is excitement, energy, rejuvenation and potential deals and opportunities singing around everywhere in every language from every country. Anything we could possibly need to grow our business was at this show.
We closed out the event by attending my first Cirque du Soleil show Mystère—wow. Strange and beautiful. I’ve attended many since.
I hope in the future to not only attend conventions or exhibit in Vegas, but also—as my new businesses grow—to be able to host my own conventions there.

I would love to attend the Inventors Convention if they ever have one in Vegas. I heard there maybe a Blogger Conference in Vegas this year… that would be great to attend too.

My favorite business trip to Las Vegas was in 1989. I was out to attend the NADA convention. My husband was also there since he was attending for another company too. Now these conventions usually falls somewhere near my birthday, February 14th. I kidded my husband that is would be really funny to get married again in Vegas by Elvis. He kidded back by saying why would he make the same mistake twice. You really need to know his sense of humor.
So, you ready? While I was giving a talk on motivating your employees to reach their best potential in walked Bob with Elvis, a ring, flowers and a small veil. As you can guess we did get married again and it was a great way to show motivation at its finest.
I still get emails from attendees wishing us a happy anniversary
