What inspired you? My son would not potty train and our family on the go lifestyle made it more difficult to be consistent during potty training.

My husband died just after we lost our 3rd child while I was toilet training our 2 and 3 year old. Since he had no life insurance everyone kept saying I needed to market the PottieStickers as a business to raise the kids. So I am trying it. We donate a percentage of all sales to cancer research in his memory.

How long have you been in business? 5 years

How did you fund it? Myself and 3 investors. My board of directors support me and surround me with information, guidance, options and advice. Someone one told me “Surround yourself with great people and make yourself look greater.” So I have.

Do you have a Fairy Godmother (or Mentor)? Bob Blair is my Fairy GodFather. He sold his business when it was billing millions so he is a walking wealth of information, advice and guidance. My mother is my Fairy God Mother because she was my rock when my husband was dying. She was my only support center even though she was across the usa from me.

Do you belong to any Business Organization or Networking Groups? Made for Moms, Moms for Moms, The Mom Pack, HBWM, WAHM, NAFE, WBENC, WBN

Current Business Challenge? Getting into the big box and large retail, pharmacy & grocery stores

What are you doing about it? Driving to make face to face appointment with every big box and large retail, pharmacy & grocery stores we can this month in a six hour driving radius.

Favorite motivational quote: Obstacles are things you see when you take your eyes off the goal. Ask and ye shall receive.

Family? Two beautiful children – 8 year old son and 7 year old daughter

If so, how do you balance family and business? Number one – I work from home so I can be here when the kids get home from school,  Summers and Holidays off. If I have a meeting the bus drops them off at the local daycare for me. I go to super suppers and make a months worth of dinners and freeze them. Just because I work and don’t have time to cook a home made dinner every night doesn’t mean we can have them. The kids deserve them.

Favorite book? Anything on cassette

What do you do to relax? Scrapbooking

What do you want to change most about your world? Being a widow for 5 years I am ready to now share my life again and I am starting to date. (Email me any good looking rich guys pictures please – lol)

What are you most proud of? First of all my kids. Secondly the 14 awards we just won and being named Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 for the State of PA and for PottieStickers being named Best New Product of the Year by judge Donald Trump at the American Business Awards.

What advice would you like to offer other Start Up Princesses? Just do it. Don’t wonder what if. Fins a local Business support center, Small business administration, Small Business Development Center, Global Support Center, what ever you have near you and go get help getting PLUGGED IN to the answers and make your dreams come true.

Favorite Magic Wand (tool/resource)? Cell phone & Digital Camera are my number one, all the networked computers, web cam & laptop.

If you could design a tiara, what precious stones would you use? My Tiara is Garnets because January is my birth month, loaded with diamonds on top of beautifully delicate laced gold.

Would you be interested in being a Fairy Godmother to another woman entrepreneur? (I am working on a secure system to do this, any ideas?) e-magnify has a womens mentoring program that has 5-8 women to ask for advice on growning businesses. But it is getting to the volume of sales required to be in the mentoring program. So something basic they can read on line for how to. Then specifics can be done via conference calls once a month. Rotate asking questions and mentors can answer as they have sources and info to advise. Free conference call dot com lets you save 1 hour calls. Save them for thers to listen to from your web site.

What business subjects would you feel comfortable mentoring in? Advertising, Marketing, Business plan, graphics, basic start uo and patent issues
