Want a Dreamy Summer? Start with a Vision Board
June 3, 2009
While I typically think of Vision Boards in January, I decided to create one with my kids (ages 3, 5, 9) just for SUMMER because Summer usually slips by before we get to some of our favorite activities or we’re trying to cram them in all at th e end. This year we wanted to create the Most MAGICAL Summer EVER so we created a poster with all of our dreams. I loved how they found photos they liked that represented their ideas and interests (who doesn’t want a rice krispie treat now and then?). I added two photos, the one of the serenity garden to remind me that we needed some meditation and quiet time in nature as well as the fun. Read more
Burn Your Regrets, Visualize Your Dreams for 2008
January 3, 2008
Happy New Year everyone! I hope your holidays were recharging and fulfilling in every way. I LOVE new beginnings, don’t you? I have a couple Magic Wand Tips today to help you start off 2008 with closure and creativity.
Today’s Magic Wand: Now that things are starting to settle down, I encourage you to set aside a little quiet time and make a list of any regrets and burn them (be careful!), it’s an incredible feeling! Do it! I burned mine this week at a party and we used waxed paper and burned them in a frying pan (instant burn), but you could burn them in a wood burning stove or fireplace if you have one…
Then set out to Create a Vision Board of your hopes and dreams for 2008.![]()
My family did this in 2007; we spent one evening ripping out photos from magazines that held meaning for us and represented our dreams for the new year (healthy lifestyle images, business and financial goals, images of vacations, family time, peace, new landscape, Disneyworld, etc.) and then another evening narrowing down our selection and pasting them on a poster board. Once a month we’d get out our Vision Board and discuss it, writing on the back of the poster our progress or fulfilled dreams. It was exciting to note how our dreams had been fulfilled or were becoming a reality. I love involving the kids with this project, but this year I want to create two–one for our family and one for me personally.
Enjoy the process! Please share with us your experience with burning your regrets or creating a Vision Board!
