Today I learned of the incredible tragedy that struck the Nielson family of Arizona. I don’t know them personally however, I want to do something to help as mom and dad, Stephanie “Nie” and Christian were seriously burned after an airplane crash leaving 4 children under age 5 with Nie’s sister while they recover for the next several months.
I spent a bit of time reading Nie’s blog tonight and I’m so sad I never knew it previously, look at this family, look at her effort to make an charming “back to school feast” for her girls, including whimsical crowns! Love it!! What a beautiful, adorable family. If you read much of her blog you’ll feel her passion for life, witness her adoration of her husband, be inspired by her faith, and love for motherhood. My heart is aching and I want to participate in Design Mom’s declared Nie Day (you’ll have to scroll down, can’t find her permalink) this Thursday… bloggers all over are spreading love and prayers for this family and we want to join the effort in raising money. What will we be auctioning?
a ticket to The Startup Princess TOUCHPOINT event Sept 26 at the Sandy, Utah Miller Innovation Center, valued at $119, I hope we can raise double that for this family. The auction will start here on Thursday, the same day we release registration for our conference. The funds raised will go directly into the Nielson family paypal fund to help cover their medical expenses which is estimated to be in the millions and also for the care of their children while they are recovering. Love and gratitude to her sister, Jane and husband in Provo, Utah whom is caring for all 4 of them.
