Brief Summary of your Start Up: Natalie was a senior at BYU and knew that the best way to reach families was in education, yet she was seeing so many of her classmates go into traditional career paths of counseling to fix family problems. She knew that helping families prevent problems as they received and practiced better ways of being had the ability to save so many more families. She started a think tank with other students in her major and conceived the projects that evolved into the Family Life Education Institute. She planned, saved, and launched in 1997, in 1999 they gained 501c(3) status

How long have you been in business? Nine years

How did you fund it? Personal savings, private grants, contracts to write books, articles, and organize conferences

Do you have a Fairy Godmother (or Mentor)? Yes, Wally Goddard, my father in law and leader in the field, Laura Jacobs, Herbs for Health, Pleasant Grove www.experiencewellness.org, and my mother, Shirley Crosby.

Do you belong to any Business Organization or Networking Groups? National Council of Family Relationships(NCFR) and an informal network of individuals I admire with similar thinking.

Current Business Challenge? My own focus with other things that demand my time

Family? Married to Andy, 3 boys aged 7, 5, and 1, 2 sheep, and 1 goat!

If so, how do you balance family and business? I take care of my family first. I ask God what He wants me to work on in the business at the start of each week. Then I ask Him to make a way for that to happen. I focus on my family and then turn to these other tasks as I feel moved to.

Favorite book? Approaching Zion by Hugh Nibley

What do you do to relax? Sit in the massage chair, play with my boys, and snuggle with my honey!

What do you want to change most about your world? Make individuals whole and safe from the effects of darkness, thus making families whole and full of light

What are you most proud of? My family and the miracles I’ve witnessed at God’s hand.

If you could design a tiara, what precious stones would you use? I would use all the colors of the rainbow, with a large amethyst in the center for royalty

What advice would you like to offer other Start Up Princesses?
Understand your gifts, find your flow, and share it to bless the world. When we truly share our unique gifts we can’t help but experience success.

Favorite Magic Wand (tool/resource)?
The gap of nothingness/ meditation time is truly my favorite magic wand, because that is typically where I discover all the other magic wands I need to do the project.

Would you be interested in being a Fairy Godmother to another woman entrepreneur? (I am working on a secure system to do this, any ideas?) sure, If time commitment were minimal.

What business subjects would you feel comfortable mentoring in?
Remembering your place/showing up on the field ready to play/ taking the time to get instructions- meditations place in business
God’s a lot better at being God than I am- leaving manipulation and greed out and doing more
