Where have I been?? Somehow I missed meeting Gabrielle at BYU as a undergrad even though we have mutual friends and apparently for 2 years I had been reading mostly all-business blogs (and missed out on some really great ones!) because I only discovered the insanely popular and fabulous Design Mom, Gabrielle Blair in August, (now I’m a groupie).
After reading on Gabrielle’s blog that she had roots in Utah I decided to invite her to speak at our retreat and we were fortunate to connect before she became ultra-busy as the mastermind of Nie Nie day, which has raised awareness all over the world and raised over $100k for Nie and Mr. Nielson and family…way to go, Gabrielle! (and thanks to the thousands who have participated along with her).
As I have gotten to know Gabrielle (mostly as a blog reader like many of you) I’ve become amazed by her highly-skilled multi-tasking, connections with the hip and elite, eye for design, clever ideas for kids-related art/style, love for making parenting beautiful with her 5 young children (ages 2-10!), and run her #3 ranked Mom blog (according to Wall Street Journal) and maintain her responsibilities of co-founder and grow her blogging social media site, Kirtsy what has been called by Guy Kawasaki as “Digg for Chicks” now
with over 50,000 members in just a little over 1 year of launching (here’s the whole Kirtsy team at their recent retreat in Charlotte) She also blogs for Cookie as a Guest Editor/Writer, love her posts there! Before moving to NY in 2001 when she had 3 more children and discovered her passion for the internet, She received a BFA in graphic design, enjoyed working as an art director (in advertising) and designer (stationery, invitations, logos).
We’re excited Gabrielle will be joining us as a speaker/workshop presenter on Social Media at our November 7-8th Retreat. I didn’t realize she had worked in Midway as a college student.. read her post about it and see some amazing photos of where we’re having our retreat.
Join us at the Startup Princess Retreat and meet Gabrielle in person. Can’t wait!

I can’t wait, either! It will be so great to see/hear all of the presenters that are coming. Oh yes, and see beautiful Salt Lake City.
It’s going to be a blast!
