At the
end of a very challenging week my dear friend Lori gave me a copy of “I am a Mother” written by former TV journalist and new mom of two babies, Jane Clayson Johnson. The book is extremely inspiring and uplifting for mothers, particularly for moms who are choosing to stay home with their children. The gift was timely because Fairy Godmother Nancy Cadjan interviewed Jane in her weekly Babies and Moms Radio show the same day and I’ve devoured the message.
Personally I appreciate Jane’s courage to walk away from a 4 year network television contract and choose motherhood. She wrote her new Christian book in the wee hours of the morning to share her message that “motherhood matters”. Jane chose a path most established journalists wouldn’t…she left fame, fortune, and prestige and even though it isn’t always “easy” and there are days when she’s cleaning up a mess that she wonders “what am I doing?” but she’s committed to her choice and raising the level of respect for mothers everywhere. Thank you Jane.
Here are some excerpts from the radio interview:
Sharing our weaknesses with each other (as friends) builds strength in each other and creates a bond…
Let’s not make judgments, love each other for who we are and what we’re trying to do
There is no perfection…we all have issues and circumstances that come up, share your experiences and build long lasting friendships
Famous people have asked Jane about her recent starring role, “So, you’re just a mom?” She replies with honor, “No way… I am a mother!” She says, “Let’s rejoice and create a revolution that motherhood matters.”

I had the opportunity to interview Jane and I am really impressed with her choice to choose and revere motherhood. Check out her book. It really is a great read.
Thanks Nancy for bringing Jane on your show…it turned out great and I hope a lot of people listen to the podcast version! http://www.babiesandmomsradio.com
Yay Jane! I can’t tell you how impressed I am with Jane Clayson Johnson! She is a true example of a great mother. Many woman can deliver the morning news, but only SHE can be the mother of her children!
Great point, Kim!
