Company Website? www.InThePinkDesigns.com

What inspired you? My husband with the “Anything is possible” philosophy of life and business

How long have you been in business? About 3 years

How did you fund it? Little by little but then I reinvest all of my earnings right back into the business.

Do you have a Fairy Godmother (or Mentor)? My husband and his dad. I listen very carefully to their successes in their own large family business. I owe a lot of my success to being a fly on the wall every now and then☺

Do you belong to any Business Organization or Networking Groups? I have tried but with 2 little ones, anything quiet is almost impossible. We do network online with other mompreneurs.

Current Business Challenge? Seeing the hits on the site and the rave reviews but not having the amount of sales we would like.

What are you doing about it? Constantly changing and evolving. Adding payment plans and new options for purchasing. Incentivising.

Favorite motivational quote: Be still, and know that I am God.

Family? I am married with a 7yr old and a 16 month old

If so, how do you balance family and business? A lot of late, late nights. I also try to include my kids in what I do. My 7 yr old will actually have her own little “shop” attached to my site shortly. I think having my own business makes me a better mom so everything I do, I try to involve them in it. Use it as a teaching experience as well.

Favorite book? Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos

What do you do to relax? A warm bath and a Starbucks Frappuccino

What do you want to change most about your world? I want to stop feeling guilty about doing things for me, no matter how big or small. Every good mom deserves a little attention now and then!

What are you most proud of? That my daughter wants to be like me. I feel like I must have done something right along the way.

What advice would you like to offer other Start Up Princesses? In a nutshell, when you get to the point when you think, “this is just not working, no matter how hard I try”, DON’T give up. This is the turning point. Push forward harder than ever to get over that hump. Consult with other moms for ideas. Do anything but give up.

Favorite Magic Wand (tool/resource)? My wireless internet connection and laptop. I couldn’t work with kiddos at my side without it!

If you could design a tiara, what precious stones would you use? My favorite would be diamonds but I would also use photos of my children and husband. They are a part of me, without them, I wouldn’t be the “Start up Princess” that I am.

Would you be interested in being a Fairy Godmother to another woman entrepreneur? Absolutely, any knowledge that I have, I freely give.

What business subjects would you feel comfortable mentoring in? Marketing, website management and design

Would you be interested in going to lunch with other women entrepreneurs for a “networking tea party”? I would love to!

Would you be willing to be a facilitator of such an event? Absolutely

Startup Princess is an international network committed to empowering Women Entrepreneurs by offering resources for women in business to support, mentor, collaborate, learn from, and inspire one another. In 2006, after struggling to raise funding for an initial startup business venture, Kelly King Anderson recognized an important market niche existed for reliable resources educating women desiring to start and grow successful businesses, thus Startup Princess was developed.

Successful women entrepreneurs understand that for every business venture, they are in charge of creating, organizing, developing, managing, and assuming all the risks associated with their enterprise. That can seem quite intimidating but as other women business owners will tell you, it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it! Success is within your grasp and Startup Princess is here to help.

First, join as a member of Startup Princess and start building a solid foundation. Membership entitles you to a listing in the Startup Princess Online Directory where we list women owned businesses. You’ll also access exclusive content like articles, videos, and audio straight from your email inbox. Coupled with feature interviews, discounts on events, networking connections, and press opportunities, your Startup Princess membership will give any woman entrepreneur a great start for her business!

Then, take advantage of Touchpoint, our annual business conference for women entrepreneurs. Practical planning meets sky-high inspiration at this high-impact event for women business owners to network and develop their approach to business with wisdom and creative direction from other women entrepreneurs across the country.

Need a little help taking your business to the next step? Wish you had a fairy godmother like Cinderella offering you a helping hand? Now you can! Startup Princess is the home of Fairy Godmother Consulting, volunteer mentors sharing tips and insights to bless the lives of other women entrepreneurs.
