On my best mornings I wake up early when the house is silent and go to my living room with a pen and a piece of paper and a sticky 3×5 card (a post it will also work). I take a few deep breaths and stretch a little then I say my morning prayers outloud. While I pray I give thanks and ask a lot of questions about whatever is on my mind, including business. I write down whatever thoughts come to my mind on the paper and take my time through this process. I ask about my priorities for the day, how I can improve, what I should do to solve a problem, how I can help a particular family member, etc. and I try to “be still” which is a little challenging for me….yet, in the stillness comes some of the best ideas ever!!
Dr. Wayne Dyer says, when you are connected to “Source”, you will do your best work, because it’s not your work at all…it’s God’s work through you…when you aren’t connected it’s all about ego. So, he asks, “How corroded is your connection? How clear is it? What can you do to keep connected continuously? When you’re listening, you’re allowing God to give you the answers you seek. Be Still. Be Patient. Be at Peace.
Once you’ve received what you’ve sought for that morning, write down your list of “To Do’s” on the 3×5 card and then carry it around with you or post it on your phone, your laptop, your fridge…wherever. And then at the end of the day when you say your evening prayers go over your list again and discuss your day again. How did it go? What went well? What can be better tomorrow?
