-Renowned entrepreneur and business strategist gives women entrepreneurs the skinny on what NOT
to do when starting a business-

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 15, 2012 – For women entrepreneurs: know the common and critical
mistakes entrepreneurs are apt to make and do everything in your power to avoid them.
Utah Entrepreneur Michelle McCullough will highlight entrepreneur mistake-avoidance maneuvers
in a specialized Grow America Mentor Strategy Session for women
in business. The event is August 21, 2012 at the Zions Bank Founders Room at 1 South Main Street
in Salt Lake City, Utah. Networking and light refreshments will begin at 3 p.m. with McCullough’s
presentation beginning 3:30 p.m. The event is free of charge and open to the public. You can register here.
Michelle McCullough started Doodads Promotional Products when she was 19 and has spent
the last 12 years working in marketing and advertising. She’s worked in all aspects of the
industry from production to creative to sales to management. McCullough cultivated her love for
entrepreneurship by founding and running Doodads Promotional Products as a successful side
business. In 2008 she quit her full-time job to be home with her newborn son and moved Doodads
to the front burner, doubling its income in 2008 and again in 2009 despite the recession. She also
became a partner in Startup Princess in 2008.
“Everyone is aware that there are plenty of entrepreneurial mistakes that can sink fledgling
startups,” said McCullough. “The key to success is identifying these mistakes and arming yourself
with the tools and knowledge to stay away from them completely.”
Grow America’s Mentor Strategy Sessions Resource offered from the organization as a growth and
education opportunity for its registrants and members.
“Ms. McCullough knows what it takes to get a business off the ground,” said Richard Swart,
executive vice president at Grow America. “Sometimes achieving success means knowing what not
to do. Michelle’s insight and knowledge will help entrepreneurs avoid business-killing pitfalls.”
