Grow America Springboard Competition for #Utah Startups

Grow America, provider of the Grow America Springboard Competition premiering in Utah, today provided additional information about its upcoming Q1 championship event. The initial championship, which is the culmination of the Utah Spring and Fall competitions, is slated for Q1 2013 in Salt Lake City. Grow America has announced that the culminating event will provide double the winnings of the Spring and Fall competitions. The championship event will pay a total of $500,000 in cash and awards that completes the $1 million cash and awards commitment from Grow America and its sponsoring partners for Utah’s 2012 Springboard events.

As additional news, Grow America announced that all Round 2 finalists from both the Spring and the Fall competitions are eligible for the $500,000 championship. This means that the current Fall competition is the final opportunity for any entrant that did not qualify as a Round 2 finalist in the 2012 Spring competition to qualify for the championship event and its $500,000 in cash and awards.

The Utah Springboard championship event will take place in early first quarter 2013. It will feature the best entrepreneurs of 2012 in an Entrepreneurs Expo and Final Pitch show. 2012 Springboard Championship finalists will each have and opportunity to present their ideas and companies in a public exposition after which the top companies will be selected to present their ideas before a panel of celebrity judges in the Final Pitch show.

The excitement and energy of the Final Pitch Show has been compared to crossing “American Idol” with “Shark Tank.”

Entries for the Fall competition are open now and will continue until Aug. 30, 6 p.m. MDT, at www.growam.com. Awards for the Fall competition will take place during the Grow America Springboard show and expo in the Utah Salt Palace on November 1st.

All participants in Grow America Springboard receive the opportunity to benefit from and participate in the networking events and expos surrounding the Competition and Championship events, as well as gain opportunities to connect with potential business mentors and investors. The community is invited to attend the competition and championship events as well.
