Startup Princess 2nd Birthday Celebration continues with another great contest, compliments of Fairy Godmothers Carrie & Danielle, authors of Style Statement.
Carrie & Danielle “Style Shrinks” are a couple of the coolest, inspiring, action-driven, savvy women I’ve ever met and their book? Well… it certainly
compliments them… in every way. I cherish my copy! The photos, the discoveries, the insight… it’s a gorgeous book to own, not only visually, but for your soul. A book I hope you all consider owning for your personal libraries, regardless of this contest. Here’s what they say about it:
Style Statement: Live By Your Own Design is a Discover–It–Yourself experience – part workbook, part inspirational narrative. Through a series of inquiries into what you long for, what lifts you up, and what you’re attracted to—as well as what doesn’t work for you—you can create your own personal Style Statement and to it as a touchstone for making more powerful choices in your whole life.
Carrie & Danielle challenge readers to ask questions to create a life rich in meaning and authenticity. For our contest, we’re going to request you answer 3 of their questions and then R
andom.org will determine who will receive a copy of Style Statement. (*winner must be resident of US) Deadline for the contest is Thursday August 7, 5pm.
Here’s the questions, answer in a comment below.
Enjoy the process! Don’t rush.
Things I Love…
I Am My Best Self…
You Couldn’t Pay Me Enough to…

Things I love. . .are people. To be surrounded by those who love you and support you through all your ups and downs, successes and failures is the best thing in the world. I didn’t know until I reached my 30s that some folks grow up without a support system.
I Am My Best Self. . .when I am allowed to be creative and teach. I have many young girls (pre-teens and teens) looking up to me and I want them to live their best lives. I know they think I’m the smartest, prettiest, richest, most successful young lady they have ever met and I am glad to keep up the facade if I can help them become “me” in their future lives.
You Couldn’t Pay Me Enough to. . .not be myself. Katasha (that’s me), in all her glory believes that she can do anything and whatever she wants, she can have. I grew up with parents that instilled in me that nothing is out of reach. Not the doctoral degree, not that corner office, not the small business. Being myself helps me achieve my goals, no matter what.
Things I love…my family. Nothing else matters when everything else is gone.
I am my best self…when I am bringing out the creativity in my kids.
You couldn’t pay me enough to…leave my family. Yep, I’m a broken record. LOL!

[...] You can win a copy of the Style Statement book at this smashing site for female entrepreneurs! [...]
Things I love…family vacations, girls nights out and date night with my husband. Common theme? Bonding moments with those I love.
I am my best self…when I get enough sleep. Otherwise I am impatient, grumpy and not myself at all!
You couldn’t pay me enough to…bungee jump, sky dive or do anything dealing with great heights!
Things I love…
Serendipity, music, the smell of a campfire
I am at my best self
when I stop thinking so much and follow my intuition
You couldn’t pay me enough to
go back to being a full-time office slave
Things I love: dark chocolate chips, my little boy’s gummy grin, my daughter’s puff of curls, the smell of husband’s cologne, the sound of rain hitting our roof, laughing with my sisters, the way my brother thinks, my mom’s banana cake, daddy’s barbeque and the sound of my mom praying.
I am my best self with my babies, in the classroom and really early in the morning when the house is quiet and it’s still dark outside.
You couldn’t pay me enough to become a negative ninny — it sucks your chi and is contagious, but not in a good way.
Things I Love… my daughter, feeling energetic and focused, nature, enthusiastic and open people
I Am My Best Self… when I have had enough solitude and time to think in my day, and have gone for a walk
You Couldn’t Pay Me Enough to… Work all day in a place where nothing creative or beautiful ever happened.
Things I Love… the freedom to chase my dream.
I Am My Best Self… when I have had time to relax, recharge, and slow down.
You Couldn’t Pay Me Enough to… give up on my dream of owning a successful business and doing what I love, even if it meant making more money.
Things I love (In no particular order)…Dr. Pepper, the color blue, travelling, my husband, my son, a good movie, a good book, dreaming of a new house, air conditioning, a car the runs well, making a sale, making new friends, chocolate chip cookies, good conversations with my favorite people, making fun memories. Sorry, not feeling very deep today, just feeling like it’s the simple things that make me happy today.
I am my best self when I am helping others do what they love. Sometimes it takes a cheerleader, and I love helping people believe they can do it!
You couldn’t pay me enough to give up on my dreams. They may be far away, but I will get there. Just wait.
Things I love … good old fashioned paper and inkpen. I just love it when i am brainstorming about my business and the ideas come so fast that i have to write them down in a trusty notebook with a good inkpen. There is nothing like the feeling when you read your good ideas and think “wow- good work!”
I am my best self when… i can be creative. I have a creative energy that gets restless if its not released. Thinking outside the box is my thing and any time that i can breathe new life into a tired old strategy or project, i get an instant warm fuzzy.
You couldn’t pay me enough … to conform. I am a stubborn, hard headed taurus. When it comes to living life, i like to do things my way. I don’t adhere to anyone else’s guidelines when it comes to taking charge of my own personal success. I want to be innovative and different. I want to be my “authentic self”.
Things I Love…
My husband’s silly songs about our dog.
Good coffee.
The ocean, reminding me that the world is vast and deep and we are all so small.
I Am My Best Self…
When I am focused on the task at hand…yet listening to really good music.
You Couldn’t Pay Me Enough to…
Wear a uniform.
Say things I don’t believe.
Do my own plumbing.
Things I love…my son, money, travel, interior design magazines, the ocean, books & bookstores, black & white photos, boutique hotels, convertibles, fireplaces, chocolate cupcakes, sunrises and sunsets, pugs, the spa, outdoor cafes, room service, candlelit bubble baths, tulips, orchids, New York at Christmas, first class, childhood board games, chocolate malts, chocolate covered strawberries, sweet tea, sushi, smothered chicken with rice and gravy (okay I just love food), hammocks, driving Highway 1 in a convertible, the movie – Pretty Woman, roller coasters, picnics, and motorcycles…
I Am My Best Self…when I’m conscious (meaning present, living consciously in the now.)
You Couldn’t Pay Me Enough to…vote for the guy with the initials J.M. (did I say that! Oh well, it’s the first thing that came to mind.)
Things I love: oranges bursting with juice, the bite of cloves, turtles lined up on a log, the whisper of pages turning, wet sand beneath my feet.
I am my best self walking alone.
You couldn’t pay me enough to turn my eyes from the written word.
