Blessings 2008: What’s Your Top Ten?

When Matthew and I got married I decided to create a family tradition of sending Thanksgiving cards with a photo and list of blessings we’d received that year. We’ve been entrepreneurs our entire 11 years of marriage with some real ups and downs financially so in a way this list demonstrated to us (and our close loved ones) that we were indeed surviving thriving and that while we only had a little in the bank, we recognized how truly blessed we were and were loving the life we created. Unfortunately I had to break the Thanksgiving card tradition this year because we didn’t get our family photos back in time and have been on vacation… so we’ll send out our holiday cards during December with the rest of the world. Long story short: my top 10 blessings of 2008 will be listed here instead. And we want you to share your top 10 as well. :) Happy Thanksgiving to all.

1. My faith has grown tremendously in 2008. I know that when I ask for help, and humble myself to receive inspiration, I can receive guidance in all aspects of my life–this knowledge brings me tremendous joy and peace.

2. My Husband, Matthew Anderson is my dearest friend and biggest supporter. He helps me to keep my priorities right and to excel in my endeavors.

3. My 3 bright and cute kids–they’re healthy, happy, and full of light and love

4. My 2008 “team” * key individuals who helped me to make my wishes “happen” to grow Startup Princess, supported me in competing for Mrs. Utah, and on a personal level by sharing their gifts, wisdom, kindness, and cheers * Heather Madder, Cherie Burton, Liz Rosenbaum, Laurett, Sarah Jane, Janet Meiners Thaeler, Karyn Grant, Startup Princess website sponsor and dear friend: Sarah Bray, Startup Princess partners: Michelle McCullough and Leslie Smoot, sweet neighbors: Elizabeth Scott, Jennifer Richardson and Chrissy Hill, and my mom, Christine King who came to live with us for a month during my pageant preparations. Plus all of the many wonderful Fairy Godmothers and Startup Princesses who continually share their love and believe in what I’m trying to create here.

5. Unexpected and wonderful opportunities for personal growth personally and professionally

6. Startup Princess’ amazing new “home”, redesign sponsor Sarah Bray of S. Joy Studios

7. Adventures with my family-our RV road trip to Canada, Cruise to Mexico with my husband-snorkeling, sailing, swimming with dolphins!, last minute and fun trips to California

8. Meeting amazing and inspiring new women each day through Startup Princess, continually feeling recharged by your energy and enthusiasm to create and give

9. Developing a love and passion for working out, for the first time in my life, I truly love being and feeling fit

10. Watching my kids learn and grow each day and feeling so happy that I get to be a part of their lives

Share your top 10 blessings here by leaving a comment, we’d love to hear from you.

Awww…you’re so sweet! It has been a dream working with you! I feel terrible that I wasn’t able to help more when you went on your vacation. I feel like a meteor has landed on my desk…and I’m leaving in a day! But I hope it was a great one!

    Kelly,
YOU my dear have been a God-send to me during 2008! You had the faith in me to be your personal trainer BEFORE I was even certified which has given me tons of experience and confidence in myself and my abilities. You were also my “personal trainer” in my business goals and coached me on having the courage to go for what I really wanted, but was too scared to do! And now look at me – I have a complete gym in my home, I have a blog and website that I love dearly – (thank you Miss Sarah Bray!), I have a steady stream of clients coming to me, I’m starting three fitness camps in January and will be teaching these throughout the year! I’m telling you, had it not been for your FIRE and PASSION about life… and your BELIEF in me and my talents… and for your UN-WAVERING example of faith in God and your mission in life, I know I would not be where I am today!

You gave me the courage to do what I was meant to do, even when I was tempted to give up. That one Monday in my basement, when I was not the peppy, cheerful personal trainer I was supposed to be, you changed my perspective on SO many things and I will ALWAYS be grateful for that!

    Thank you my sweet friend!
    Liz

In 2006, after struggling to raise funding for an initial startup business venture, Kelly King Anderson recognized an important market niche existed for reliable resources educating women desiring to start and grow successful businesses, thus Startup Princess was developed.

Successful women entrepreneurs understand that for every business venture, they are in charge of creating, organizing, developing, managing, and assuming all the risks associated with their enterprise. That can seem quite intimidating but as other women business owners will tell you, it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it! Success is within your grasp and Startup Princess is here to help.

First, join as a member of Startup Princess and start building a solid foundation. Membership entitles you to a listing in the Startup Princess Online Directory where we list women owned businesses. You’ll also access exclusive content like articles, videos, and audio straight from your email inbox. Coupled with feature interviews, discounts on events, networking connections, and press opportunities, your Startup Princess membership will give any woman entrepreneur a great start for her business!

Then, take advantage of Touchpoint, our annual business conference for women entrepreneurs.
